No worries, i'm thinking not many of you guys will show up, based on the number of (crumpled) flyers i saw on the ground after Thursday's class. It was a graveyard of flyers. Just kidding. It wasn't that bad--i guess you guys just wanted to leave me something to wipe my tears after you all left. BAH someone slap me, i'm emo!
Anyhoot, i have no idea what i should be writing about. How's everyone doing with their final papers? i should probably start mine soon. i should probably settle on a topic soon. i should probably make peace with my gpa soon.
In general, i have to admit that i really enjoyed this class. i never expected to see a class offered by the English department devoted entirely to Filipino and Filipino-American literature. Before coming to Berkeley, i wasn't even aware that Filipino-American literature (or culture, for that matter) existed. i'd never been exposed to the Filipino-American community, and i had no understanding of our history as a diaspora. Wow, this is starting to sound like an infommercial for Ethnic studies. Oh well, i guess i'm just trying to say that i really appreciated the material of this course. It's gotten a lot of advertising among Filipino undergrads here at Berkeley, so i hope that this class will be offered again in the future.
Alright, i have no idea what i'm going to do with this blog now that the semester is almost over. If it doesn't collect dust and fossilize it just might turn into another xanga (oh but how i love those eprops).
i hope all of you guys had a great semester, and it was awesome to get to know some of you. There will be tears on this keyboard Wednesday night--this paper is killin me. And on that note...
Peace out, English R1B
